Fashion Friday: Remembering David Bowie

In remembrance of David Bowie, who passed away earlier this week, we celebrate what Bowie has done for music and fashion. Bowie's influence transcends music and fashion and touches many lives. He didn't simply wear what looked good; he dressed to feel good. That is a philosophy we can all use in our lives.









 

Vince Camuto Judy Bag - Minimizing in Sulphur Spring

After years of lugging around large totes and oversized handbags, I've decided to settle into something lighter and more compact. My love for the oversized bags remains the same, but my shoulders thank me for switching to the more convenient crossbody bag. My latest conquest is the Vince Camuto Judy Crossbody bag in Sulphur Spring. Vince Camuto is not a familiar designer for me as far as handbags go, but I love his recent designs. This vibrant yellow bag is accompanied by a gorgeous medallion tassel. The Judy crossbody bag is a beautiful display of elegance and playfulness.

My one complaint would probably be the strap. I am not a huge fan of metallic straps as I think they can come off cheap looking. Fortunately, the metallic layer is highlighted only on one side of the leather strap. Still, I would much prefer a sturdy leather strap throughout. Another thing to note is the easily scratched hardware. I only just got this bag, but look at the damage I've caused already!

Fashion Friday: Little Gold Ring Collection

I have an ever growing obsession with little gold rings. These rings are wearable, versatile and timeless. I don't make a habit of collecting them, but I constantly find myself pulling out my wallet whenever I see a cute dainty ring. As most of them are affordable little things, I don't find this habit too troublesome. (Surely it's better than that designer handbag phase?)

I like to store my delicate gold rings on a baby dachshund ring holder.

These are a little dated, but I'm almost certain the golden leaf ring is from ModCloth whilst the owl heart ring is from DailyLook.

My newest obsession is this golden midi bow ring from DailyLook. The whole midi ring trend took a while for me to get into, but I can really get the hang of it now - especially with this bow ring!

Fashion Friday: Are Hairbands Back in Style?

I truthfully don't know if hairbands are coming back to make a statement in the fashion industry, but I know they are making a fine comeback for me! I'm not sure why I gave up on them after my middle school years. They are fantastic at keeping hair out of the face and they are just as much a fashion statement as any other accessory. Surely hairbands are more useful than a necklace and much less burdensome than a ring or heavy bracelet?

The thin glitter headbands look great to brighten up any dull look. And the flower headband is just a favorite all around!
