Exploring Holistic Skincare: Cecilia Wong Black Currant Serum

Cecilia Wong Skincare is a New York City based skincare salon and organic product line. I was recently fortunate enough to try Cecilia's Black Currant Serum from her holistic skincare line. The serum is made of 100% pure oils and smells absolutely wonderful.

Cecilia Wong Black Currant Serum $55

This lightweight yet concentrated Black Currant Serum helps fade discolorations, brightens skin, lessens fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.

Ingredients: Ribes nigrum (Blackcurrant) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, helianthus annuus (Sunflower) Seed oil, Daucus carota (Carrot) Seed Oil, Rubus ideaus (Red raspberry) Seed oil, vaccinium corymbosum (Blueberry) Seed oil, Urtica Dioica (Nettle), limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Seed oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) oil, Eucalyptus citriodora (Ecucalytus) oil, Rosa damascena (Rose) oil. Fragrance (100% essential oils)

In addition to adding moisture to the skin, blackcurrant oil is known to be effective in treating eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions. The oil is also recommended for weak and brittle nails and thinning hair. Some studies also suggest that the high concentration of vitamin C in black currant extract can inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer and colon cancer cells.

I love the idea of the holistic skincare line. After using this serum on my face for several days, I definitely noticed a brighter appearance. The Black Currant Serum can be purchased at the Cecilia Wong Skincare salon or at ceciliawongskincare.com.

  6. Lily,
I have been looking into holistic and natural care too. I feel like in this day and age, everything I use has way too many synthetic, unnatural chemicals. And we really haven't studied any of them long enough to know the long term effects.

  9. Sab,
I use the dropper to drop a few drops on my face and then use my fingers to spread it out evenly. Hope this helps!
