Glamour Doll Eyes Eyeshadow Swatches and Review

Glamour Doll Eyes Eyeshadows ($6.00 each)

Brown Eyed Girl, Dazzle Me, Doll House, Flashdance, Graves in May, Love Affair

All pigments are safe for use on lips. Glamour Doll Eyes sells both unblended pigments (simply bought and repackaged) and eyeshadows they make themselves. For the purpose of this review, I chose only eyeshadows that were formulated by Glamour Doll Eyes. Please note that GDE does clearly state what they make and what they don't. (I wanted to clarify since there was a huge scandal in the past in which Lime Crime Makeup tried to pass manufacturer pigments off as their original product.)

Shipping is free but there is a minimum of $10 to order from them at all. I really don't like that policy. I think they can charge one or two bucks for shipping and start free shipping at $10.

Review Summary: Glamour Doll Eyes Eyeshadows
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is great for the most part. Dazzle Me is less pigmented than the other shadows, but still quite good. 4/5
Lasting Power: Although these have been formulated and blended by the company, I think they are still lacking in their adhesive capabilities. They come off easily with gentle rubbing. Remember to use a base or primer if you want them to survive the heat. 3/5
Packaging: These are packaged in generic plastic jars with a cute Glamour Doll Eyes logo sticker on top. That is standard for loose shadows, but there is no real originality here. 3/5
Value: I hate their pricing. A full sized jar costs $6.00 and you can get 2-2.5 grams without the sifter and 1.5-2 grams of product with the sifter. The sample jar costs $2.50 and gives you 1 gram of product. I think I would just rather get a sample jar every time. The fact that there is such a range in the amount of product you get bothers me. 3/5
Overall: Decent eyeshadows, but not overly impressive or different. B-

  3. The colors are really pretty, but their policy doesn't make any sense...How does one do business when you have to be charged a minimum of $10? It's kind of stupid!

  4. Yes, I think that's a little silly of them since they sell things that cost $1.25... Otherwise, I would love to buy a few tester shadows to try from time to time. It would be really useful if I need a specific color for a tutorial or look.
