  1. I try not to let the media influence me into making purchases but when my favorite actress that resembles my skin tone or body figure wears something that makes them look good, I want to go out and try that! I guess its okay to say that media does play a huge influence in my shopping habits, even "gurus" and blogs play a huge part but I have always been a bargain shopper so if I can find something similar for cheaper, I will more than likely go with that option. OF course, if its something I really want, I tried and really like it, and nothing else compares - then I will dish out the money for it.

I think its okay to "copy" your favorite actress, singer, youtube guru, etc... to a point. Just don't make it obvious, credit where you got it from, and leave some creativity to your own imagination! Nothing beats having discovered something that no one else has before and then having it become a trend!

  2. The only influence I get, is when a product is bashed several times. In that case, I won't buy it for sure.

  3. I don't let celebrity endorsements pull me in. Odds are the person who's promoting a product doesn't and probably wouldn't ever use it. I seriously doubt Beyonce dyes her hair with L'Oreal Feria Box dye. Her Colorist probably charges her $2,000.00 to color her hair.

There are "celebs" I keep my eye on though. One of which is Perla Hudson (Slash's wife). I like to look for inspiration from , not 100% copy them.

I'm way way way more influenced by blogs & online reviews. The majority of them are honest because most of the time the blogger buys the product with their hard earned cash.

  4. My influence? Bloggers I like! I have a feeling it's not even so much if they have the exact same taste as me or anything, but rather how much I like their blog -- that is, their sense of humour, their writing style, their delivery and whatnot. Of course for foundations and skincare treatments, I try to go with someone who has the same skin as me. That's where MakeUpAlley comes in!

  5. I think the biggest influence is definitely other bloggers and youtubers that I follow religiously. Whatever they say seems to go for me...but of course, I Always make sure to look up even more reviews before completely committing to one product just to be safe!

To be honest I definitely follow what bloggers & youtubers suggest, since I am new to the make up world, I definitely don't have a strong idea on what I should look for in makeup. Im 23 yrs old & just started to wear any sort of makeup besides lipgloss. I know kinda crazy! lol Especially, since I don't have the money to try all sorts of different makeup and brands, they definitely help narrow down what is best or worth a purchase. The media doesn't really play a role on me or else I think I would have been wearing makeup since I was a younger. ;)

  7. Blogs! Everytime I read a good review (which is almost everyday) I want to buy that product. Youtube videos, I see these girls putting on that and that brand of makeup, and want to have it too!
My hubby told me, since I'm blogging and following millions of other blogs our spending money budget has exploded. I'm not proud of it...I just can't help it...

  8. i would definitely say it does influence me. When multiple beauty gurus + bloggers start raving about a product I end up getting it. If a celebrity does a look I love and she reveals what products were used then I end up buying it too but i always check reviews and usually only buy things that have a generally positive review overall

  9. I guess you can say the media influences me. I mean, I usually don't go out and buy everything I see on tv or YouTube but I do pay some extra attention while buying to things I've already seen on celebrities ir gurus.

  10. I try not to let commercials and ads influence me but that's how you'll know the product is around, which then I'd do my research on them to see if they're all that great. So even though I don't want to be influenced by media and hearsay, it definitely does have some impact on what I look at.

  11. The influence I get is you bloggers' review posts... Once a product have repeated good reviews written by countless bloggers, I'll get influenced to purchase that certain product... ^_^
