The Sigma Defining Eyes Palette by TiffanyD consists of 8 eyeshadow shades, 2 gel liners, a dual-ended eyeliner pencil and a pencil dual-ended brush. By now we've grown accustom to new releases of Sigma eyeshadows and brushes, but this is the first preview of the Sigma eyeliners - particularly the gel.
One of my favorite thing about this palette is the choice of colors. I think Tiffany did a great job picking out the color combination. The eyeshadow colors are perfect to create a dramatic party look. The brown shades can also be used for everyday simple looks. The color combination is both exciting and practical. It is quite a neural-but-not-quite palette as it is perfect for smokey looks.
My only concern with this palette is the initial fallout from some of the eyeshadows, particularly Midnight. As you can see from the swatches below, I got a few fall outs on the initial swatching of the eyeshadow. It is perfectly fine after wiping or smudging the color out, but I think it is something to consider.
Next I want to share my absolute favorite thing is about this palette: the gel eye liners. I was very surprised when I dipped my brush into the eyeliner pot. The eye liners were so smooth, rich and decadent. The brush that came in the kit picked up the eyeliner easily and it swiped on my skin perfectly. I don't think I've ever been so pleasantly surprised about a gel liner. I kind of wish the palette came with an eyeliner brush for those who want to create thin lines with the gel liners.
The duo eyeliner pencils that came in the set also applied very smoothly. I'm not one to use blue eyeliners often, but Tiffany's eye-brightening tutorial in the pamphlet will tempt me one of these days.
Overall, this is probably Sigma's best makeup palette and deserves at least stars. If this is where Sigma is heading with makeup, then I cannot wait until they release eyeshadow bases and more gel eyeliners. I will buy up the gel liners like it is no one's business.

There eye liner swatches are very pretty! The eye shadows kind of pale in comparison. Do you know if Sigma will have single eye liner pots?
ReplyDeleteI think Sigma will release a lot of makeup products in the near future. I'll try to update whenever possible.
