iMomoko sent me a lovely package last week that I've been wanting to share with you. (I would have shared sooner bu my camera has been misbehaving.) I have a soft spot for Asian makeup and skincare products. They're less accessible to me thus I always crave for them. I am familiar with any popular Western product, but Asian products still mystify me. I think the hope is that perhaps one day I will stumble upon a miracle Asian skincare item that will transform me.

Pinky Paradise Threatening to Sue Blogger
My Pinky Paradise Affiliate Conflict post from earlier this week got quite some attention. "Jason" from Pinky Paradise promised to pay me the portion of the sales that he thinks were generated from my blog. Sounds reasonable enough, right? It was that or nothing so I took that.
He also stated that I can "set up a new account and continue to earn" money from my blog. Thanks, but no thanks. At this point in time, I am glad to have my affiliate account deactivated. Plenty of better companies to work with if I ever get around to searching.
I thought things were good and dandy when I received my payment from Jason. I was threatened to remove any blog post or tweets that mention Pinky Paradise and the whole account deactivation/conflict ordeal. I have no intention of backtracking and erasing my blog post or tweets (people do that?), but I made a mental note to update my readers on the situation and let everyone know that Pinky Paradise did eventually pay. I am not happy with them, but I was no longer going to speak ill of them because I was seriously over it. Maybe if I were feeling generous, I would call the whole thing a simple disagreement.
I thought this mess was over - but received this little treat from Jason today: "Please remove any post about pinkyparadise from your blog and twitter within 48 hours from now. Legal action will be taken if you failed to do so."
First of all, you can't. And what is up with the time constraint? What if I am out of town? Or my computer is broken? Or If I am too darn lazy? And trust me, I am not important enough for people to read my week old tweets. Also, why only my blog and Twitter? I also complained to my family and friends. (I must admit that I am a whiner.) Kindly advise me on how to take my words back.
Jason, threatening affiliates (or ex-affiliates, in this case) will not solve the problem. While I appreciate the fact that you ended up paying me for a portion of the traffic and sales that I generated for you, I do not feel that I owe you anything.
In fact, you should probably consider apologizing to me for your threatening emails. Throughout our email exchanges ever since this disagreement began, you never even thought to apologize. Your threats hurt my feelings and maybe even scarred me emotionally. I hope to get an apology from you within 48 hours.

World's Priciest Nail Polish: 267-Carats Diamond Polish

Dubbed the most expensive nail polish in the world, Azature recently launched a $250,000 nail polish that contains black diamonds. Priced at $250,000, this exclusive Azature Nail Polish contains 267 carats of black diamonds that'll sparkle like no other.
Absurd. For Azature, I am sure this is just a marketing ploy to sell their $25 imitation bottle, but the sucker who buys the real deal is... a real sucker. If you have that money to throw around, throw it in a charity bin (or my pocket). Real diamonds will look just like glitter in nail polish.
If you want to wear the $250,000 look, just pick up a $25 bottle of Azature signature black polish. It is supposed to contain a real diamond bit in it along with a shimmery glean that resembles the sparkle of diamond. Let's just pretend all that glitters is diamonds.

Pinky Paradise Affiliate Conflict
08/13/2012 Update Pinky Paradise has finally paid me for a portion of the sales I generated through my blog, but they are threatening to take legal actions over my blog post!
A month or two ago Pinky Paradise emailed me and asked me to join their new affiliate program. They even gave me a unique coupon code to share. Since I have used their products before, I agreed and even posted a post about Pinky Paradise and shared the coupon for my readers. I thought it was a little strange that they never asked for payment method. (How do they expect to pay their affiliates if they don't ask?) I volunteered my choice of payment and Paypal email.
They never really replied to my emails and avoided my many questions asked. I already thought it was a little shady, but they convinced me that their program was very similar to the Sigma affiliate program (which is not true). After asking for a while, "Jason" from Pinky Paradise said payments will be made at the end of the month. When I emailed them again after the date has passed and asked about my overdue payment, I was notified that my account will be terminated because it is against their policy to share the affiliate link or coupon code on another website such as a coupon sharing or other social media websites. Yes, this is regardless of who shares it. If a reader wants to share a code or link with others, the affiliate's account can still be terminated - but perhaps not until the affiliate asks to be paid. No account needs to be terminated until it is time to pay up.
Pinky Paradise was probably hoping affiliates would give them free advertising and promotions. When it came time to pay, they didn't want to part with their money. I think they were hoping that most people would not make their minimum payout threshold, so they would never have to pay anyone anything. I am upset that I already sent them so many referrals from my website. They are located somewhere in Asia, so it is not like I can bring them to court.
If you are advertising Pinky Paradise, I recommend you do your research or consider finding a better program to join. If they have to pay you, they might reluctantly do so.
If I didn't ask for payment yesterday, I would most likely still have an active affiliate account today. They only terminated my account after I asked for payment (one week after they were supposed to pay). Coincidence? I think not.
P.S. An alternative option for circle lens is HoneyColor.com.

For the month of August, Shu Uemura has decided to offer to beauty blog readers (that's you) an exclusive deal! This deal includes a 10% off and free shipping coupon for any order. And since I'm a blog reader myself, I've already utilized the offer. :) What can I say? Free shipping with no minimum purchase is very tempting! (That's how ASOS gets me every time.)
