Luna Protein Bar Giveaway

Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review. The opinions I've expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.

The Luna Protein bars are 160-180 calories per bar and provide about 12 g of protein per serving. I like to eat them between classes, when I am hungry but without time to eat. They give me an extra boost of energy without draining me like sugary cereal bars. My favorite flavor? Mint Chocolate Chip! They all taste pretty good, but you still get the evident protein taste.

In addition to receiving the five Luna bars to try out, I also received two delicious Luna lip balms. That's right, delicious lip balms. Lemon Zest and Chocolate Peppermint Stick: all-natural, petroleum-free lip balms that taste like dessert.
The power of protein keeps you full and feeling good about it, so go ahead — indulge in the chocolatey, nougaty goodness of LUNA Protein. Delicious, satisfying and sustaining for under 200 calories.

I am excited to host this giveaway, as there will be five winners! I always feel bad when I can only give out one or two prizes, so this one is definitely a little more exciting. Just fill out your name and email and I will randomly pick 5 winners to win a pack of Luna Protein Bars and some additional freebies. This giveaway is US only and ends in one week (September 2, 2011 11:59pm EST).

Giveaway Closed.
Winners: AmieeJoy (amie****@yahoo.com), Ruqaiya Khan (ad***@ruqaiyakhan.com), Claire (feelingorg****@gmail.com), Nela (m.nee****@gmail.com), Amyboo (amytra*****@gmail.com)

BH Cosmetics 88 Matte Palette Giveaway

La Ishá Nutrient Rich Face Creme

La Ishá is an all natural holistic skincare line with products made without synthetic chemical preservatives. I have recently had the chance to try their Nutrient Rich Face Creme. It is super moisturizing, good for those with dry skin during the winter months. It is slightly heavy for younger skin during the summer months, but would make a good plumping moisturizer for mature skin.

Designed to support the health and beauty of dry, dull, aging and environmentally stressed skin, this La Isha nutrient rich face creme contains an international blend of therapeutic oils that are highly compatible and easily absorbed. It is known to increase turnover rate of skin cells, fight wrinkles, soften skin, and supply important essential fatty acid nutrients for skin health and cell metabolism.

I really don't like the packaging. Desite my fondness of the square-shaped container, the packaging comes off looking and feeling cheap. Now, I am not one to be deterred by packaging (Chanel Teint Innocence is my favorite foundation, after all). It's just that at $75 per bottle, I feel that they can do so much better than this penny packaging. Not only does the lid feel like a light chunk of plastic, but the sticker that brands the La Ishá logo looks like it was stuck on at the very last minute. I like this moisturizer, but I would suggest a total makeover if they are marking the price this high.

La Ishá skincare products can be purchased at la-isha.com. I would recommend this for those aged 30 and up who needs an extra punch of moisture. As this moisturizer is very expensive and quite heavy, I do not recommend it for younger girls or those with oily, acne-prone skin.

Monavé Loose Mineral Concealer-Foundation Review

I have been taking my time to test out the foundation I received from Monavé earlier last month. The last mineral foundation I used was Everyday Minerals. At first I loved it because it appeared natural - but in a few weeks, I noticed that Everyday Minerals left little bumps on my skin. Luckily, Monavé foundation hasn't caused any of that. My skin has been looking quite good lately actually.

Monavé Loose Mineral Concealer-Foundation in Caroline

The Loose Mineral Concealer-Foundation is probably one of the fuller coverage mineral foundations available on the market. It feels almost creamy and can cover up spots and under eye circles well. The finish is semi-matte. I like this foundation a lot and use it for days that require the extra coverage with a light, natural feel. It's perfect for work or school.

My only complaint is that the sample size container I received does not seem to seal fully. Nothing really falls out, but it bothers me that there is a gap that mineral can settle in. I assume the full size container is a little different, but cannot speak from experience.

100% natural mineral foundation: blended

Recommended for: loose mineral foundation users looking for a heavier coverage and those with oily or acne-prone skin.

You can click here to find where Monavé cosmetics are sold, or order their makeup on monave.com.

Do you use mineral foundation? What are your thoughts on mineral makeup?

Klix Makeup Brushes: Replaceable brush heads?

As I already own a lot of makeup brushes, news of new ones don't interest me like they used to. When I was asked to try the Klix makeup brushes, however, I was excited. I had never heard of them prior to this, and was surprise when I read that they were, to simply put it, replaceable brushes. Now, you don't actually replace the entire brushes, just the brush heads. The idea is that once worn out and dirty, the old brush head can be recycled and a new one can be attached. It's sanitary and convenient. Some studies show that many women don't clean their brushes - so this is one solution.

Klix Makeup Brushes (Set of 3 with 6 replacement heads) $59.95

The brush kit I received came with 3 different brushes and 6 replacement heads, making for what is actually 9 brushes. Replacement brushes afterwards would cost from $10-$12 per pair. So let's assume that each brush costs $5.50 (but keep in mind that prices do vary by brush). That is not a bad price for good quality brushes, assuming that these brushes will last through the snapping on and off of the replacement heads. I question the longevity because these brushes don't feel as sturdy as solid brushes. I can feel a bit of movement where the head and body of the brush meet.

Replacement heads come in their own boxes so you can pull them out when you need to replace.

I have been using the foundation/concealer brush a lot lately and I like it (although not as much as my Sigma F80). I almost always wash my brushes daily, but I like the idea of disposable brushes because you can only wash something so many times before it becomes a mess.

Bristles are incredibly soft.

The replacement heads are easy to exchange as you can just snap them on or off. They feel secure, although I do not know how long they will last. My suggestion is that you don't play with the them unless you are replacing the brush heads.

These brushes didn't come with cleaning instructions. I hope people do not get the idea that they can simply replace brush heads every few months and be done with it. You should still clean (or at least spot clean and sanitize). These brushes are great for people who do not clean their brushes, but almost impractical for those who maintain good brush care. They are good quality and priced well, I'll give them that. Alternatively to using replaceable brush heads, however, you can buy cheaper brushes like EcoTools and replace them every few months.

What are your thoughts on these makeup brushes?

Penpal Bloggers?

//.Update.// Penpal Bloggers has a new home over at penpalbloggers.blogspot.com.

Do you want to send a fellow blogger a mini care package? You'll get one in return! -- I am just throwing an idea out there. If it gets enough interest, it'll happen. If not, maybe next time around.

The package will mostly consist of a really long letter. Make it warm and thoughtful! You will also attach to the letter a small gift for your pen buddy. The gift is just for thought, so keep it under $5 and don't expect anything more in return. The little gift will most likely be something you want to recommend or think the person would really enjoy. The thought is the most important part! If you give your partner random junk you have lying around the house, we'll find out and won't like you for it! :( Please don't do it! We want to like you.

I am only going to accept active beauty bloggers with a decently reputable blog. The reason being, I don't want to risk getting a flaky person involved. I will personally verify every blog and blogger to make sure we're all good, homey people.

If you (really, really) want in on this program, email me (admin@handmadereviews.net) your name and blog. Once I get the full list of bloggers, I will send it out. I will then email everyone to finalize things and to ask for mailing addresses. You will have the opportunity to tell me if there is a particular blog you don't want to work with. I will make sure you guys don't pair up in any way, no questions asked. Otherwise, I will match you up with a fellow blogger. You will not know who got you and I ask you do not share who you have. It will be a surprise when the person gets your letter!

Privacy Stuff:
Your privacy matters a lot! I will only give your mailing address to that one single person who is responsible for sending you your package. After this program is over and everyone is happy, I will delete all addresses, information, and relevant emails.

Assurance:
If someone does not keep up her end of the bargain, please let me know! I want to make sure every person enjoys this little exchange. And because I set this up, I will make it happen.

International:
I am going to try to pair you up with someone in your own country (just to keep postage cheap). If you have a preference for international exchange, let me know. I can't make promises, only effort.

Expected Timeline
Now-September 1st: Sign up
Septermber 2nd-10th: Send me your mailing address
September 11th-12th: You get your assigned Pollyanna.
September 13th-October 11th: Send out your care package!

The reason I am giving so much time to send out your package is because I know many of us are busy, but more importantly, I want you to take some time to read the other person's blog and get to know her before writing to her and sending her a gift.

Please only sign up if you really, really want this! I can't emphasize this enough. You have to want to write a long, thoughtful and caring letter. It will probably involve you reading the other person's blog and learning about her. You will have to send a small gift too! More importantly, you have to have a light heart, and don't be disappointed if the letter or gift you get isn't what you expected. You should have fun writing your letter, getting to know someone by reading her blog, and then picking out a gift for your new friend. You might gain two friends in the end! (The person you are writing to and the person writing to you.)

Are Your Cosmetics Hazardous to Your Health?

I recently bought the Coppertone SPF 50 Oil-Free Sunscreen Lotion from a local Target out of the whim. It is not one specifically for the face, but I use it for my body, neck and face - and I love it. It is oil-free, waterproof and long lasting. It does not feel dry or greasy and most importantly, does not break me out. The sunscreen costs only a few dollars, but to me is worth gold.

That got me thinking: Why is something "worth gold" sold for so little when there are many expensive, high-end sunscreens selling well? Surely there is something wrong with mine. I began to investigate the ingredients: The particular bottle I bought was paraben-free (though not all Coppertone sunscreens are).

I decided to dwell deeper and look up all of the ingredients on ewg.org. If you are unfamiliar with EWG's Skin Deep, it is a cosmetics database that lists the health risks, toxicity, and safety of many common cosmetics ingredients.

EWG's Hazard Score Key

Looking through the database, I noticed that my particular sunscreen lotion is listed with an overall rating of 4, which would make it fall under moderate hazard. (To put things in perspective, Aussie Shampoo also has a rating of 4.) The most hazard of ingredients listed is oxybenzone, which scores a 7 on the EWG hazard scale. Benzyl alcohol and triethanolamine respectively scored 6 and 5, which the rest of the ingredients scoring from 0-4.

As it seems, there is nothing especially wrong with my lotion. The most dangerous ingredient turns out to be the sunscreen itself. Accumulation of what seems like innate chemicals can lead to serious health issues - but that is a risk we take to avoid sun damage, aging and cancer.

Ingredients: Homosalate, Oxybenzone, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone, Water, Styrene Acrylates Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Bis Stearyl Ethylenediamine, Stearyl Hydrogenated Dimer Dilionleate Copolymer, Benzyl Alcohol, Acrylates/C10 30 Alkyl Acrylate, Crosspolymer, Oleth 3, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Triethanolamine, Chlorphenesin, Disodium EDTA

In the end, I am still a fan of my Coppertone SPF 50 Oil-Free Sunscreen Lotion. It isn't obviously more toxic than the food I eat or lifestyle I live. Looking through the cosmetics database though, there seems to be a lot of sunscreen lotions that are less hazardous because they contain physical sunscreen such as titanium dioxide instead of chemical sunscreens. (Read about physical vs. chemical sunscreens.) I will try some of them after I am through with my Coppertone.

I hate looking up ingredients and studying their toxicity. It is troublesome and possibly unnecessary as many ingredients can't be avoided entirely. But it is scary that there are too many toxins to avoid. Most chemicals pose some threat or another - and that is only based on small studies of some ingredients. Can you imagine the dangers brewing behind the chemicals we have not had time or resources to thoroughly research?

Exploring Holistic Skincare: Cecilia Wong Black Currant Serum

Cecilia Wong Skincare is a New York City based skincare salon and organic product line. I was recently fortunate enough to try Cecilia's Black Currant Serum from her holistic skincare line. The serum is made of 100% pure oils and smells absolutely wonderful.

Cecilia Wong Black Currant Serum $55

This lightweight yet concentrated Black Currant Serum helps fade discolorations, brightens skin, lessens fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.

Ingredients: Ribes nigrum (Blackcurrant) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, helianthus annuus (Sunflower) Seed oil, Daucus carota (Carrot) Seed Oil, Rubus ideaus (Red raspberry) Seed oil, vaccinium corymbosum (Blueberry) Seed oil, Urtica Dioica (Nettle), limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Seed oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) oil, Eucalyptus citriodora (Ecucalytus) oil, Rosa damascena (Rose) oil. Fragrance (100% essential oils)

In addition to adding moisture to the skin, blackcurrant oil is known to be effective in treating eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions. The oil is also recommended for weak and brittle nails and thinning hair. Some studies also suggest that the high concentration of vitamin C in black currant extract can inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer and colon cancer cells.

I love the idea of the holistic skincare line. After using this serum on my face for several days, I definitely noticed a brighter appearance. The Black Currant Serum can be purchased at the Cecilia Wong Skincare salon or at ceciliawongskincare.com.

Can We Take a Peek Inside Your Makeup Bag? Before and After the Hold Me Bag

Before

I stored my makeup in various boxes, train cases, and bags. Needless to say, traveling was quite messy. If space permitted, I would carry my two makeup bags and a brush roll. Otherwise, I stuffed everything, brushes included into my VS makeup bag and kept my smaller items in the Nvey bag. It was a little troublesome carrying my makeup and brushes in various cases, but it was a whole lot better than digging through a giant, endless makeup bag.

The travel bag I try to stuff most of my makeup in. I always keep with me multiple foundations, concealers, eyeshadows, mascaras, lipsticks, brushes, etc. You never know what you'll need.

The mini travel bag that accompanies the main travel bag - because how else would I be able to find one lipstick in the sea of makeup?

My makeup storage is sporadic and a bit of a mess. I shift things around to suit my travel needs.

After

Behold, the Hold Me makeup bag! Brushes are stored safely in the bag and the makeup are spread out neatly. No more digging through eyeliners and blushes to find one single gloss. Everything is out in the open in this cute and organized case. The best part is that the bag is compact and can lie very flat - or you can stuff it until it becomes completely full. The tie that holds it together is genius. The versatility of this bag is endless.

Everything fits nicely in the Hold Me Bag. No more carrying an extra bag or brush roll around. I keep some minerals and wipes on the side pocket for convenience. Brushes or small liners have their own slots as well.

I like to carry most of my makeup with me on trips. Just toss everything in there, zip up and go.

Sleek case with a wrap-a-round tie that was inspired by a vintage schoolgirl's book-bag.

The Hold Me Bag is sold on holdmecompany.com for $95, which despite its great design and quality, is still quite expensive. That said, this bag will be of excellent use for makeup enthusiasts. It is made of sturdy Knew Suede, which not only feels luxurious, but is super easy to wipe clean. I spilled my mineral makeup all over the bag and was able to wipe it all away using just my hands. In my opinion, it is much better to invest in the Hold Me Bag than getting several small makeup bags or train cases. And if you really want a Hold Me bag but refuse to shell out $95, you can grab the Les Fleurs pattern one, which is currently on sale for $55.

What does the inside of your makeup bag look like? Please share!

100% Pure Organic Argan Oil (November 2011)

Argan oil is exceptionally rich in natural tocopherols (vitamin E) and essential fatty acids. Depending on extraction method, argan oil can be more resistant to oxidation than olive oil, making it the superior skincare oil. Pure argan oil is excellent for enriching and moisturizing hair and skin.

As I have dry and damaged hair, I love using natural oils to moisturize and repair the damage. I have used many types of oils, including olive, monoi and various oils from the Body Shop. It's always difficult to find a pure, clean oil that is affordable and easily accessible. I was recently sent the Organic Argan Oil from 100% Pure. As argan oil is one of the rarer oils available, I was very happy to know that it is readily sold in a pure and organic form. This is the first time I have tried argan oil and I really like it. It is lovely as a hair treatment and smells very calming. I am working my way to using some of it on my face since argan oil is such a great source of vitamin E.

100% Pure Organic Argan Oil ($19) 100% Natural, 100% Vegan, Gluten Free
Ingredient: Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (100% Pure Certied Organic Argan Oil)

100% Pure Organic Argan Oil is rich with vitamin E, phenols, carotenes, squalene, and essential fatty acids to deeply moisturize, nourish and soften. Famous for its healing and restorative properties, Argan Oil can be used on clean skin, hair, cuticles or anywhere else that needs moisture and softening.

100% Pure Organic Argan Oil will retail in stores starting November 2011. It can currently be purchased on their website at 100percentpure.com.

Nude Skincare Summer Splash and Review

I think Nude Skincare has become my new skincare line. I love using natural, eco-friendly products that are free of preservatives and harmful ingredients. The products feel light and gentle on my sensitive skin and very importantly, do not block my pores. Things that really hydrate and protect tends to block my pores - but with Nude Skincare, my skin breathes with me.

Nude Skincare Intense Moisture Mask ($60)

The instruction on the Moisture Mask states that the mask can be applied and then washed off, but I see no problem with using it purely as a moisturizer. I have worn it on multiple occasions as a nighttime moisturizer and as a base under my makeup. It sinks right into the skin and adds intense moisture. I really like it and find it to be the gentlest moisture mask I've come across. The scent on this one is not as pleasant as the other Nude Skincare products, but it fades quickly.

Nude Skincare Moisture Balance ($68)

The Moisture Balance is a delicate moisturizing gel that protects skin while controlling oil. It is ideal for oily or acne-prone skin as it hydrates without clogging pores. It contains milk peptides to soothe and protect against dehydration while hyaluronic acid and pomegranate extract actively hydrate the skin. The argan extract defends against the signs of aging and free radical attack. The moisturizer feels extremely gentle and light while adding just enough moisture for the skin to breathe and be hydrated at the same time. Though it is probably not moisturizing enough for those with extremely dry skin, it is a perfect summertime moisturizer.

Nude Skincare Hydrating Water ($20)

The Hydrating Water smells like rose and contains probiotics to promote good bacteria for the skin. It adds extra hydration to my face. Unlike the Evian Spray, which is only water and nitrogen (which is basically air), the Nude Hydrating Water acts as a gentle toner - except it is more hydrating than stripping. I love it and my only complaint is that the spray doesn't as much spray as spritz in a concentrated area. I understand that it is meant to be applied with a cotton pad, but I really much rather use it as a refresher. I still manage to get away with spritzing it on my face directly. I use it before and after applying makeup and it makes my makeup look a lot more natural (less dry). I will probably get another bottle to carry in my handbag.

The spray on the Hydrating Water.

Nude Skincare products are available at Sephora, Space NK and NudeSkincare.com. The empty containers can be recycled at your local facility or sent to Nude to be recycled. I personally will be recycling a few empty bottles soon. I am definitely going to repurchase the Hydrating Water and am looking forward to buying the facial oil and wash.

Have you ever tried anything from Nude Skincare?

JewelMint Tailor Made Earrings (or scissors in my ears)

Another month, another JewelMint purchase. As my JewelMint boxes are piling high, I am trying to reduce it to just one pick a month. I think I made the perfect choice with my August pick. I almost skipped these earrings because they looked so normal at first glance. When I saw it on the model, I knew I had to get it. This set comes with four pairs of earrings and look great on my double piercings. These have definitely become a part of my jewelry staple.

JewelMint Tailor Made Earrings

The scissors are my favorite earrings!

As we're on the subject the Mint family: I really, really like the StyleMint shirt I ordered last month. Really. It's surprising, but it actually looks so good on and was so flattering that I took the chance and ordered another t-shirt from them. I got the "No is a full sentence" shirt, but it was quite meh. The August selection does not look great either. I guess the StyleMint Melrose tee was a one hit wonder kind of thing.

EOS DMC Circle Lens: Natural Eyes Enlargement

Mukuchu Circle Lens
EOS Series E (14.0 mm) DMC circle lens from Mukuchu.

This is the first pair of circle lens that I actually wear out. I have really bad eyesight accompanied by astigmatism. These toric lens are my actual prescription and work exactly the same way as my prescription contact lens from the optometrist. My eyes are pretty dark and my iris are naturally quite big, so I have trouble finding circle lens that fit well and look normal. These DMC circle lens are perfect. They are a similar color to my eyes and they have pretty good enlargement effect. I imagine that on lighter eyes, they will pop and look even more beautiful because the design will show up more clearly.

Before and after circle lens. Notice the natural enlargement and darkening effect.

Mukuchu Circle Lens by www.handmadereviews.net
Wearing EOS DMC circle lens from Mukuchu.

These circle lens are extremely comfortable and unlike the other circle lens that I've worn. I felt a slight discomfort for one second while putting them on, but then I felt absolutely nothing! Throughout the day, I forgot that I wasn't wearing my normal contact lens. I wore these circle lens out all day with one of my best friends and she did not even notice them in my eyes. But as you can see from the pictures above, they do make a difference! These are definitely lens I can wear on a normal basis without hassle.

Editor's Pick: Drugstore Eyeliners You Need

Wet 'n Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner
Just under $4 in stores and even cheaper online, this eyeliner is the best of its kind. The consistency is a little odd, sort of a mixture between cream and gel. It comes with a brush that isn't so great - but that doesn't stop this eyeliner from being the best budget eyeliner (ever). This stays put all day and is quite comparable to Stila's smudgepot, Bobbi Brown's gel liner and MAC's fluidline. I am still surprised that Wet 'n Wild managed to pull off something this decent. And they're charging barely anything for it. If you haven't tried it, it won't hurt to do so.

Prestige Waterproof Eyeliner
This liner is truly silky smooth and completely waterproof. It is creamy, yet works great on the waterline. If you don't want to shell out the cash for the Urban Decay 24/7 or MAC Powerpoint Pencil, the prestige eyeliner would be a nice alternative. There is a wide selection of colors to choose from. You will have to sharpen it often if you want to keep that thin, sharp edge. Prestige recommends you buy their sharpener, but I suggest you just stick to their eyeliner.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner
I have been using this eyeliner for five years now. It isn't the best eyeliner in the world and certainly can't make a great wing liner without smearing, but somehow, it remains a favorite. I have tried so many different eyeliners throughout the years, but I always go back to this one. It is extremely easy to use and lasts well throughout the day. Even when I accidentally smudge it or sleep in it, somehow my eyes don't look too bad. I use the Colorstay Eyeliner for my lids and my waterline and can finish the job within seconds. It is smooth, dark, affordable, and in my book, irreplaceable.

Do you have a favorite drugstore or budget eyeliner?

Ellis Faas Lip Colors Review: An Innovative Beauty

I have been interested in Ellis Faas since I heard about the brand from Lisa Eldridge. Every makeup item is liquid and packaged into a bullet-shaped pen. The idea of this makeup range is that every item has the same shape and can fit into a specialized container: the Ellis Holder. The Holder can fit eight Ellis Faas products, all of which are the same shape. I was sent three lip products to try, so I don't have the case at hand - but you can read more about the Ellis Holder here.

Ellis Faas Creamy Lips, Glazed Lips and Milky Lips

Ellis Faas lip products comes in three textures: Creamy Lips, Milky Lips and Glazed Lips. The Creamy Lips has a soft and velvety texture and is most similar to the classic lipstick. Milky Lips gives a more fluid and translucent appearance. Glazed Lips has a wet, yet long-lasting color that combines transparency and intensity without being sticky.

Every product - whether matte eyes, lips, or cheeks - comes in the same shape.

Although the idea of a universal shape and form for all of her makeup is interesting, what is even more so is Ellis Faas' choice of universal colors for her makeup. She based the entire collection of her brand on colors that by nature exist in every human body. From all tones of foundation to every lipstick and eyeshadow, the shades are inspired by colors that naturally occur in our bodies.

Every bullet comes with a brush applicator.

I enjoy the brush applicator it comes with because it makes for convenient traveling. This might pose as a problem for some people, however, because a brush applicator does mean that you will have to clean it. Although it has not happened to me, I have read that some people have problems with the pen clogging when they do not regularly clean it.

Application is extremely smooth and simple, but regularly cleansing of the applicator is recommended.

I really like the texture and design of these lip products, but at $35 a piece, I don't think I can appreciate them completely without the holder to store the pens. I think I will soon order a holder as well as a few face products to complete my set. I am amazed by the originality and vision of the Ellis Faas brand. The quality of the makeup itself is very good, but mostly, I applaud the innovation and the daring design.

Buying into the concept of the Ellis Holder and universally-shaped makeup requires that consumers use exclusively Ellis Faas products. For makeup junkies like myself, I cannot see myself carrying only the Ellis Holder and its counterparts in my purse. The fact of the matter is that there are too many beauty products that I like to have, to carry, to hold and to try. I am willing to buy Ellis Faas makeup for its good quality and design, but I do not see myself carrying just the bullet case around. If anything, I will buy an Ellis Holder to hold my Ellis Faas makeup on my vanity. The Ellis Holder can be lodged around on some days, but the day that makeup is revolutionized to universal packaging is far. Ellis Faas makeup gets an A for quality, design and concept, but the practicality it tries to instill is far from practical.

Each lip product or holder costs $35 and can be purchased at ellisfaas.com or various department stores worldwide. In the States, Ellis Faas are widely sold in Space NK.

Beauty without Cruelty Nail Polish and Lipstick Review

Today I continue with the natural trend. For over 40 years, Beauty Without Cruelty has produced ethical and cruelty-free products that are made with natural, safe ingredients. All BWC color cosmetics are fragrance-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Beauty Without Cruelty Attitude Nail Colors in Summer Sky ($16.95)

Beautiful sky blue color shown here with two coats.

Made in the UK, this polish applies smoothly with just a single coat. The formulation, as with all BWC nail colors, is without toluene, phthalate and formaldehyde. It dries surprisingly quickly, perhaps one of the quickest drying polishes I have ever tried. Did I mention it is long lasting? This polish has been on my toes for over two weeks with no chip.

Beauty Without Cruelty Moisturizing Lipstick in Coral ($14.95)

Smooth and moisturizing.

This moisturizing lipstick contains vitamin E and apricot kernel extract, making it a truly non-drying lipstick. It applies very smoothly. I wouldn't exactly call the color coral because it is a little more red than coral, but it is a lovely color nonetheless. It applies beautifully and can easily be built to a deep color.

Aromafloria Scrubs, Wash and Beads

As some of you may have noticed, I have been leaning towards eco-friendly and natural products as of late. I was very excited to learn about Aromafloria. Aromafloria offers bath, body and skin care products that are formulated with aromatherapeutic essential oils, medicinal herbals and exotic botanicals. Aromafloria strive to use ingredients derived from 100% natural, renewable, sustainable plant sources that are eco-friendly and safe for our water and air.

Healing Waters Body Exfoliating Treatment Sugar/Salt Scrub ($24.00), Mango Ginger Warming Sugar Polish ($25.00), Mango Ginger Foaming Body Wash with Shea Butter ($20.00)

The Mango Ginger Sugar Polish and Body Wash are among the most beautiful smelling things I have ever used. I am not a fan of ginger, so I wasn't sure how I would feel about the scent initially, but I am so glad to have tried it! The smell is so soothing that it really refreshes and relaxes me. Mango rehydrates and ginger enhances circulation in this naturally derived coconut-based cleanser with moisturizing organic shea butter. The body wash especially leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth instead of stripped like normal body washes.

Mango Ginger Warming Sugar Polish

The pure ginger oil in the Warming Sugar Polish increases circulation when applied to the skin, while organic sugarcane, fresh mango and seaweed hydrate and pamper your body and mind. I love using this scrub at night to polish my skin and relieve any tension.

Healing Waters Body Exfoliating Treatment Sugar/Salt Scrub

The Healing Waters Body Exfoliating Treatment is a pharmacist-formulated scrub. It includes an exclusive blend of mineral-rich sea salts and organic sugar granules to gently renew the skin and slough away impurities. I love using the scrub to exfoliate my skin before applying my self-tanner. That step definitely makes a difference in terms of evening the skin tone and helping the tan last longer.

Aromafloria Sinus Help Inhalation Beads ($8.00)

A few members in my family, including myself, suffer from allergies. I keep these inhalation beads in a pouch in the living room. Very often someone will go by to pick up the pouch and take a sniff. The beads smell wonderfully of eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrass. My stuffiness and congestion are easily relieved with these beads at hand.
